About Aden

Aden Ramirez, like many students in the Phoenix Union High School District, is an immigrant whose family brought him to the U.S. in search of greater opportunities. As a product of Arizona’s public education system, Aden’s journey exemplifies the transformative power of education. Growing up in Northern Arizona, he faced numerous challenges, but with the unwavering support of his parents, dedicated teachers, and school staff, he was able to pursue a brighter future. From his early days in a Head Start program, through K-12 education, and into post-secondary studies at Yavapai College, Northern Arizona University, and later Arizona State University, Aden experienced firsthand the importance of equitable and robust educational opportunities.

Aden’s passion for impacting young people’s lives was ignited by his own experiences in public schools. This led him to join Arizona HOSA, the same organization he was active in during high school, as an assistant coordinator. Over time, Aden’s dedication to expanding opportunities for students grew, and he became a State Advisor at the Arizona Department of Education (ADE). In this role, he helped lead Arizona HOSA to new heights by supporting teachers, expanding professional development opportunities, and providing more resources and competition platforms for students.

Currently, Aden works for a nonprofit organization that focuses on bringing career exploration opportunities to students across Arizona. In every role he has held throughout his career, Aden has always centered his decisions around what’s best for students and teachers. He believes deeply in the power of education to change lives and lift communities, just as it did for him.

With the support of his family, friends, and mentors, Aden is running for the Phoenix Union High School District Board to give back to the community and the school system that shaped his life. He understands that when students have access to quality education, it not only benefits them but also their families and communities.

Aden knows firsthand that public education is a powerful tool for equity and opportunity. His own success is a testament to the difference a well-supported and inclusive public school system can make. Aden is committed to making sure that every student’s unique needs are met, ensuring that they, their families, and their communities can thrive. He is ready to bring his passion and experience to the Phoenix Union High School District Board to continue building a future where every student has the chance to succeed.
